Born out of compassion
Our Story
Yeka Foundation was born out of compassion during a challenging time. In the midst of the COVID-19 lockdown, Annie and Angela, a dedicated mother-daughter duo, witnessed the struggles of their community in the informal settlements. Many families were unable to work and faced the harsh reality of food insecurity.
Angela, with her strong connections within the local informal settlement, opened a bank account and reached out to friends, seeking donations to help a handful of families put food on the table. The response was overwhelming, a testament to the shared desire to help those in need. This outpouring of generosity ignited a spark in Angela and her network – a spark that grew into the Yeka Foundation.
Who we are
Yeka Foundation is the story of Annie and Angela, two ordinary women with extraordinary hearts. Their faith inspires a love for people and a passion to see them reach their full potential. They believe in sharing their blessings, using their resources and connections to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
